Moorland Studio

Constance Bassett a painter, sculptor and her husband David Cann a sculptor, furniture and lighting designer live in Stockton, NJ. She and her husband are partners in Moorland Studios, a company providing conservation for many well known Public Art Monuments and sculptures as well as fine decorative metalwork to commercial and private clients.

Constance attended the Art Students League, Parson's school of design and the University of S.C. The focus of her painting is to capture the “spirit of place”. The paintings provide a continual reminder of this amazing place, the Delaware Valley and the opportunity to study its changes. Her sculpture in bronze and ceramic, figurative in nature. Recent work has included the Madonna series in bronze, endangered whales in ceramic, and currently a series of four heroic size busts of muses.

David who worked at the Johnson Atelier, in Princeton, NJ is mostly self taught. The sculpture is of nonrepresentational forms in steel and wood. The furniture and lighting is modern in design, often including repurposed materials.

Together they have built a studio and gallery in Stockton, NJ.
