Ron Dombrowski

Ron Dombrowski's love of the outdoors and admiration of the old time carvers led him to carving as a hobby after semi-retirement 7 years ago. Ron carves old style gunning and fishing decoys, duck decoys, decorative fish and wooden fishing plugs. He starts out with blocks of wood using Jersey white cedar, pine and basswood and after much cutting, grinding and sanding a piece is then hand painted using acrylic paints and applying protective finishes. Ron has won numerious awards, including best in show in both the shorebird and fish decoys contests held at the Tuckerton Decoy Show in September each year.
