Sheila Coutin

Sheila Coutin always seems to be experimenting with something new! This year she has been creating a variation of raku, fast firing her pots, then using a fuming technique with chemicals and horsehair. She has also been working on large "goddess" type sculptures with human bodies and bird heads. “ I guess the theme for these (if there is one!) is about freedom, and letting go. As children, my mother used to tell us that she thought she would keep us by letting us go. So I guess these are a tribute to my mother.”
